5 Easy Tips to Stay Fit & Eat Healthy this Summer
1) Canada’s Food guide is a great resource.
It recommends to eat food within the four food groups which are:
a) Fruits and vegetables
b) Grain products
c) Milk and alternatives
d) Meat and alternatives
2) Choose a physical activity you enjoy or try something different this summer.
Example: Indoor rock climbing, roller skating, taking the family on a walk to the park.
3) Create a routine throughout the week.
Schedule a certain time for physical activity. Take class such as, spinning, weight lifting, zumba, etc. This not only helps to commit but also a way to socialize. It break up the week and you have something to look forward to.
4) Be active at least 2.5 hours a week to achieve health benefits.
5) Eat slowly.
This gives your body time to recognize your full. It takes 20 minutes from the start of a meal for the brain to send a message that you are full.
